What Could You Do With a Party Tent?

When most people start planning their party, an outdoor tent is not always their first choice. Party tents have a variety of different uses and can be great even for small gatherings, especially if you have a large outdoor space you want to take advantage of. But what kinds of parties work best for a tent? Frankly, any party can benefit from the extra space and freedom that a rental tent can provide, but we’ve got a few ideas that can help you solidify your theme and get your party started.

1. Safari themed party.

Is there any better way to kick off a safari themed party than with a tent? The tent will be your camp home-base, where the food and fun are housed. This is a unique party theme with hundreds of different variations that can go as demure or as over-the top as you want. The tent, however, is what gets it all started. It’s the tent that not only allows your party to take place in the great outdoors (even if it’s too sunny or too windy to really be outside) and gives the entire event the sense of adventure on the plains of Africa.

2. Elegant, low cost wedding.

Food, dress, and venue are the three big expenses of most weddings. You can cut one of the expenses down with a party tent. Because they come in a huge variety of styles and sizes, you can rent a tent that fits the needs of your wedding, and doesn’t cost you a fortune. Just because it’s cheap, doesn’t mean that it can’t be elegant, however. With different colors and materials to choose from, you can find one that feels luxurious, without draining your bank account.

3. High school prom.

Most high school have too options when it comes to holding prom. First, they can have it in the school gym (like every other dance), or they can hold it at a hotel. However, because prom comes at the end of the year, it’s a great time to use an outdoor space and throw a prom in the cool of the evening! Rental tents have plenty of room for a dance floor, DJ, tables, and even a buffet—and it will likely cost you less than those tired venues.

4. End of school party.

If you want to throw an end of school party for your kid and his or her friends, a tent is a great way to both keep the party together and make sure that party goers can come and go as they please. A tent defines the boundaries of an outdoor party and provides a place that is shaded from the sun and has plenty of room for dancing, talking, and eating.

5. End of summer party.

When summer ends and everyone heads back to school, some kids can start to get a little sad about the end of their vacation. Why not plan a great outdoor party to lift everyone’s spirits and get them pumped for the new school year? While it still may be too hot during the day to throw a full-blown outdoor bash, a rental tent makes it possible! Providing shade and protection from the elements makes a tent the perfect venue for an end of summer party.

6. Renaissance themed party.

When it comes to planning a renaissance themed party, a tent is essential. Noting says ye olden days like a tent, decorated with flowers and rustic woods. This is one of the best ways to provide some relief from the sun or wind, without breaking the theme. Add some deep reds, yellows, and purples to signify royalty. Again, you can go as over-the-top or as understated as you want!

7. Inexpensive kid’s party.

If you have ever tried to throw a party for a large group of kids, you know how terrifying it can be. Not only do they need a lot of space to party, they can make a mess of any venue that you choose—which can be devastating, whether you have rented a space or are holding the party at your house. Instead of letting the kids destroy your house, hold your party outside, under a tent, where spilled drinks and dropped cake won’t hurt the grass. It’s less expensive and easier to clean up!

8. Save money and expand your party space.

Most people’s homes can only hold a hundred partygoers before there are simply too many people in the small space. A tent gives you the ability to expand your dinner or dance party space, without exposing your guests to the elements. Either set your tent up close to your house or venue and throw open your doors, or provide a little guided path to the outdoor party space.

9. Decorate however you like.

One of the biggest benefits of renting a tent is the ability to decorate it to match your theme. Unlike some venues that may restrict your decorating, your can dress up the tent poles, install your own lights, and even heat and cool the tent. While some venue owners might be nervous about letting you string lights across the ceiling, you can easily hang twinkle lights in a tent. Just about any kind of decoration you can imagine, will work perfectly in your tent.

10. Freedom to roam.

No matter what kind of party you are holding, an outdoor tent gives your guests the freedom to roam. Stepping outside to get a breath of fresh air is as easy as slipping outside of the tent. While the tent can help to corral a party and keep the guests in one place and mingling, you can also draw up the sides and let the party filter out from under the tent, providing even more room to dance, laugh, and mingle.
